Publication Ethics


In order to improve the quality of publications, ensure the intellectual property rights of authors and to avoid unfair practices in publishing activities, members of the editorial board of the international scientific journal "Science and Life of Kazakhstan" are guided in their work by the principles of publication ethics. Publication ethics is compiled in accordance with the recommendations and standards of The Committee on Ethics of Scientific Publications (The Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE).

The publication ethics of the journal establishes the ethical rules of author ethics, ethical rules for reviewing and editing scientific publications used in the process of publishing scientific articles.

All authors submitting a scientific article, as well as editors and reviewers, including members of the editorial board, are obliged to observe and follow the publication ethics.

Interaction with authors is based on the principles of fairness, courtesy, objectivity, honesty and transparency.


First of all, authors submitting an article to the journal must follow the requirements and standards for writing an article.

The author of the article should provide reliable results of the work done, as well as an objective judgment on the significance of the research. The data underlying the work must be presented accurately, without errors. The article should contain enough details and bibliographic references for possible reproduction. False or knowingly erroneous statements are perceived as unethical behavior and unacceptable.

The author must make sure that the article is completely original and, in case of using the works or statements of other authors, provide appropriate bibliographic references or citations.

The author submits to the editorial office an article that has not been previously published and has not been submitted to the editorial offices of other journals. Submitting an article to several journals at the same time is unethical and unacceptable.

Plagiarism, as well as auto-plagiarism in any form, is unethical and unacceptable behavior of the author.

The author must make sure that all participants who have made a significant contribution to the study are presented as co-authors, and those who did not participate in the study are not listed as co-authors, and also make sure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the work and agreed to submit it for publication.

In case of finding an error, the author is obliged to immediately notify the editorial board of the journal. Notification of an error by a third party is not accepted by the editorial board.

Every author submitting an article to the editorial board of the journal should respect the participants in the publication process.


All scientific articles published in the journal "Science and Life of Kazakhstan" are subject to mandatory peer review on the principle of double-blind peer review.

The reviewer must promptly respond to the offer to write a review.

After accepting the article, the reviewer should prepare an objective and constructive review that can help the author improve his scientific work. After reviewing the scientific article, the reviewer should be specific in his criticism and confirm his general conclusions with strong evidence and relevant references.

The reviewer is obliged to maintain the confidentiality of information on the article received during his own review and not to allow publicity and use for his personal benefit.

Each reviewer is obliged to refrain from humiliating personal comments or baseless accusations.

The reviewer should pay attention to the substantial or partial similarity of the evaluated work with any other work, as well as the facts of the absence of references to the provisions, conclusions or arguments previously published in other works of this or other authors.

If the reviewer considers that he is not an expert on the issues considered in the article or that he will not be able to submit a review of the article in a timely manner, he must immediately inform the editorial board about the impossibility of reviewing the submitted article.


In their activities, the editorial team of the journal is responsible for the publication of authors scientific works, which requires compliance with the following ethical principles.


The editorial board strives to comply with the standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process, carefully following the standards of such associations as the Committee on Ethics of Scientific Publications (COPE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), which establish standards and provide guidelines for best practices in order to meet these requirements.
